The drivers seat of 2011-2014 Ford F150s often times has memory. This is nice when it's in the correct vehicle, however due to it's complexity nobody has been able to set it up outside of the vehicle. The sensors & computer prevent the seat from working properly with a simple 12 volt connection. In order to get the seat running for custom installs we suggest bypassing the memory computer as the easiest alternative.
This is especially useful as many people are using these newer style seats in the 2004-2008 Ford F-150, as original seats for it are getting hard to find. See our selection of 2004-2008 F150 Seats.
Fixing The Problem
To do this, we will wire a power & ground source directly to the switch, then connect the wires from the switch directly to the motors. There are three places that connections will be made. The first is at the seat motors directly, the second is at the seat leanback harness, and the third is directly at the floor.
