Is the upper storage on your jumpseat stuck shut? It's a common issue on the new T1 platform Silverado & Sierras. These trucks utilize a gravity-driven lock that's intended to prevent the upper storage area from being opened while the seat is in the "passenger" position. In theory it stops your kids from being able to pull a pretty annoying prank. In practical use the gravity driven lock requires a pretty clean environment to operate. It's very simple, completely free of bearings, but the strength that makes this part possible to fix for free is the very weakness that got us here in the first place. The tolerance is tight and it's in the perfect spot to collect debris and sugary drink spills. Check out our how-to video detailing this quick and easy fix.
